During the 2017-2018 academic year, Céline Leboeuf—currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Florida International University—will join the Department of Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University as an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar. In February of 2017, the philosophy department at Penn State announced its receipt of an $800,000 Mellon Foundation grant to support an expansion of its diversity initiatives, including support for recent doctoral students whose research enhances diversity.

Leboeuf received her PhD from Harvard in 2016 and joined the philosophy faculty of Florida International University the same year. Her work lies at the intersections of continental philosophy, feminist philsophy, and critical theories of race and focuses on the ways that embodied habits and practices contribute to and can be reformed to alter experiences of racial and social alienation, marginalization, and oppression.
