#  Samantha Matherne Wins 2025 Lebowitz Prize

Professor Samantha Matherne is a winner of the 2025 Lebowitz prize for philosophical achievement and contribution awarded by the Phi Beta Kappa Society (ΦBK) in conjunction with the American Philosophical Association (APA). Each year, the award is presented to a pair of philosophers who hold contrasting (not necessarily opposing) views of an important philosophical question that is of current interest both to the field and to an educated public audience. Professors Dominic McIver Lopes (University of British Columbia) and Samantha Matherne’s topic for the 2025 Lebowitz Prize is "What Beauty Promises."
