#  Behrends and Allen receive Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) Challenge grant

 The Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics has been awarded a Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) Challenge grant for the project “Evaluating and Assessing Tech Ethics Education.” This project will be led by co-PIs [Danielle Allen](/people/danielle-allen) and [Jeffrey Behrends](/people/jeff-behrends), along with colleagues at Stanford University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Behrends describes the project below:

 "PIT educators lack tools to evaluate their pedagogy. This award will yield first-of-their-kind evaluation tools that can be deployed across diverse institutions for the improvement of tech ethics pedagogy. This will help instructors better understand whether their approaches to tech ethics education are likely to advance their pedagogical goals, in part by illuminating how students perceive and respond to them.”

Jeffrey Behrends is a lecturer on Philosophy and Director of Ethics and Technology Initiatives at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, and Danielle Allen is the James Bryant Conant University Professor at Harvard University, and Director of Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics.
