#  Danielle Allen joins department as new faculty affiliate

 We are pleased to announce that Danielle Allen, James Bryant Conant University Professor at Harvard University and [Director of Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics](https://ethics.harvard.edu/people/danielle-allen), will be joining the department as a faculty affiliate.  
  
Professor Allen is a political theorist who has published broadly in democratic theory, political sociology, and the history of political thought. Allen received a B.A. (1993) from Princeton University, an M.A. (1998) and Ph.D. (2001) from Harvard University, and an M.Phil. (1994) and Ph.D. (1996) from the University of Cambridge. In 2001, she became a [MacArthur Fellow.](https://www.macfound.org/fellows/656/)
