#  Mark Richard publishes "Meanings as Species" (Oxford, 2019)

 [Professor Mark Richard](/people/mark-richard) has recently published a new book, [Meanings as Species](https://global.oup.com/academic/product/meanings-as-species-9780198842811?cc=us&lang=en&#) (Oxford UP), that "offers an original picture of meaning according to which a word's meaning is analogous to the biological lineages we call species." In addition, Richard's book offers a unified account of a wide range of topics in philosophy of language and does so in language that is enjoyable for and intelligible to non-specialists.
