DESCRIPTION:Diversifying Philosophy 101 is a day-long teaching practicum for those interested in making their introductory philosophy curricula more inclusive and more representative. Five expert instructors will deliver presentations on philosophical figures from underrepresented groups—each suitable for inclusion in contemporary university syllabi. Presentations will feature practical advice on integrating relevant figures into existing curricula and will feature specific suggestions regarding course materials and assignments. Lunch and coffee are included, and the practicum is open to all. Email Joshua Pederson (pederson@bu.edu) with questions. The event is graciously sponsored by Boston University's College of General Studies, the CGS Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning, the Harvard University Department of Philosophy, and PIKSI-Boston.
