Abstract:

Du Bois and the Idea of Beauty:

In this talk, Prof. Gooding-Williams explains Du Bois’s conception of beauty and lays out, in a preliminary way, his phenomenology of the experience of beauty.  Du Bois’s notion of beauty, he argues, is a conceptual distillation of his phenomenology.
