Philosophy Concentrators Among 2026 Hoopes Prize Winners

Three Philosophy concentrators, Ariel (Ari) Kohn, Willa Kramer, and Arundhati (Dhati) Oommen were among 71 Harvard College seniors awarded Hoopes prizes for their senior theses. Willa is a joint concentrator Philosophy and Women’s & Gender Studies, whose thesis “The Art of Becoming: Loving Attention and the Aesthetics of Interdependent Self-Construction in The Ballad of Sexual Dependency was supervised by Remei Capdevila Werning. Ari is a joint concentrator in Social Studies and Philosophy, whose thesis “Citizens and Citizen-Leaders: Civic Thought Programs and the Trust Crisis in American Universities was supervised by Sarah Greenberg and Ned Hall. Dhati is a joint Statistics / Philosophy concentrator whose thesis “When Luck Becomes the Arbiter: Responsibility, Risk, and the Limits of Outcome-Based Judgment” was supervised by Ned Hall and Xiao-Li Meng.
