Christine Korsgaard featured on PhilosopHer
Arthur Kingsley Porter Professor of Philosophy Christine Korsgaard recently shared her work on the moral and legal status of non-human animals on the blog PhilosopHer. In her essay, Korsgaard argues that "Kant's doctrine that natural rights in the state of nature are 'provisional'" provides the best way to understand a peculiar feature of rights: namely, that rights, when considered as normative entities, "do not exist until they are instituted legally."
