Embedded EthiCS @ Harvard--a project that brings "ethical reasoning into the computer science curriculum"--has launched its new website, bringing even greater visibility to an exciting new collaboration between members of the Department of Philosophy and the department of Computer Science. As noted on its website, Embedded EthiCS " works by embedding philosophers into courses to teach a module for the course that explores an ethical issue that the course material raises."

This fall, Harvard philosophers were embedded in 9 CS classes. This spring, they will be in another 12 courses. According to Alison Simmons, Samuel H. Wolcott Professor of Philosophy and Interim Chair of the department, the response from CS colleagues has been very positive.

The program aims to develop a model that can be scaled to other institutions and, in pursuit of that end, has already made several open access modules and materials available online.
